Political Party Exhibition and Election Debate

Conscious Citizens hosted a political party exhibtion and a youth election debate on the 4th of November 2014. The exhibition was the first ever to be hosted in Namibia. It was well received.

Political parties set up information stands and had the chance to engage with the public. It was an opportunity for all the political parties to have equal access to the public and share their manifestos and views.

The debates were heated. Topics of discussion were unemployment, health, housing and education. The Namibian youth that was present at the debate tried to get to the bottom of how parties are planning to implement their plans. It was an interactive discussion.

Conscious Citizens was launched by the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF) in collaboration with the Generation of African Intellectuals Trust (GAIT) and the Free Your Mind Comedy (FYMC). For this particular event other collaborators were the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), the Namibia Institute for Democracy (NID) and the University Of Namibia Political Science Association (UNAPSA).
